What is Digital School House (DSH)?

DSH is a dedicated ICT suite with an interactive whiteboard and 30 networked computers. Mark Dorling is the DSH coordinator who will be delivering the ICT sessions; he is primary and ICT trained.

Where is DSH?

In September 2008, the DSH trust in partnership with Langley Grammar School (LGS) moved to the DSH from Computer Associates at Ditton Park to LGS.

Who is it for?

DSH has been setup to offer predominately Year 6 pupils from local primary schools the opportunity to study in a dedicated ICT environment.  Pupils learn new ICT skills and concepts with a focus on how ICT is deployed in secondary education, the world of work and business.  At the end of the day, pupils will be presented with a certificate.

There is no cost for the day at the DSH; the only cost which would be incurred by your school is the transportation to and from LGS.  In circumstances where your primary school has limited funds or a high number of free school meals, we would ask that you contact us, and the DSH Trust would hope to support your school by contributing towards your transportation costs.

When is it available?

DSH is open Tuesday and Thursday throughout the academic year. The day will start at around 10:00am and finish at 2:30pm. Light refreshments will be provided in the break but pupils will be expected to bring their own packed lunch. Accompanying adults will have the opportunity to purchase lunch from the school canteen.
